Aaron Brady

I graduated from RSCI in 2021 with a MSc in Physician Associate Studies and I’m currently working as a physician associate (PA) in cardiothoracic surgery.

I chose to study at RCSI because of its outstanding reputation for excellence in health sciences education. The faculty at RCSI demonstrated a strong commitment to providing high-quality education, with a deep level of expertise and passion for supporting the academic and professional development of all students.

I thoroughly enjoyed several aspects of the programme. The study of anatomy was particularly captivating, and the instructors provided exceptional guidance throughout the course. Additionally, I found the clinical simulations in the simulation lab to be incredibly valuable, as they effectively prepared me for managing real-life clinical scenarios. While every aspect of the programme presented its challenges, each one was equally rewarding and engaging.

My experience with the programme at RCSI was exceptional. The faculty members were highly experienced, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about physician associate education. Whenever I encountered challenges in understanding certain aspects of the material, the educators were always willing to dedicate time after lectures to provide additional support.

The facilities were top-tier, from the state-of-the-art anatomy lab to the advanced surgical suites and simulation labs. These resources significantly enriched my learning experience as a student at RCSI.

The course is rigorous, yet highly engaging. While the initial volume of content can be overwhelming, consistent daily effort makes it entirely manageable. As this is a new profession, it presents unique challenges; however, it holds significant potential for growth and expansion in the future.

My advice to prospective students is to establish connections with your classmates. It is challenging to navigate everything independently, so collaborating with peers in study groups can significantly enhance your learning experience. Working together allows you to cover a broader range of material and makes the process more manageable.
