Aletta Burgoyne
I have over 25 years’ experience of ICU management. Among other roles, I was one of the three clinical application system specialists working with teams from across the world on the operationalisation of a fully integrated electronic medical record system in South Africa, where I’m originally from.
From 2008-09, I worked in Qatar and was inspired to pursue this field after the director of nursing returned from America with a masters in medical informatics, and that inspired me to pursue this field.
The Professional Diploma in Leading Digital Health Transformation is inspirational, and the knowledge transfer is professional, exciting and of high-quality, delivered by leaders in their field. I believe the skills and knowledge I gained will enabled me to empower others into the new digital era.
In over 35 years of nursing, I have been exposed to incredible learning experiences. However, the past couple of years were part of the most exciting in my nursing career. I have grown immensely, and I embrace change and challenges, and thus realised that we always need to learn more and grow all the time to stay up-to-date.
Having completed the course, I believe I can drive the change we require to have a successful transformation within my current organisation and any other organisations.
Even though I was extremely busy at work, I looked forward to the new sessions every week, which I attended on my weekends off.
