RCSI Art Award
The RCSI Art Award is presented annually to an entrant in the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) Annual Exhibition, Ireland’s largest and longest-running exhibition of visual arts.
It is one of the most substantial prizes available to artists as part of the RHA Annual, and all works on display, in any medium, are considered for this accolade.
Celebrating art and health
Established in 2016, the RCSI Art Award in association with the Royal Hibernian Academy and The Irish Times celebrates the long-standing association between art and medicine and the common heritage of RCSI and the RHA as leading educational bodies in the area of healthcare and the arts, respectively. Previous winners
In addition to a prize fund of €5,000 and the RCSI Silver Medal, winning artists also receive a commission to the value of €10,000 to create a new work for the RCSI art collection. The annual commissions arising from the RCSI Art Award create an opportunity for artists to explore the relationship between art and health in the context of their own practice.
